Tara Starlet party

Tara Starlet

It’s fitting that my last post before Christmas is a little festive party I went to a few weeks ago. Tara Starlet is a modern vintage fashion label founded by the absolutely lovely Tara (in the last photo she’s the girl in the middle on the front row), who produce some gorgeous vintage-inspired pieces all handmade in the UK. Now, my usual style is definitely not vintage, but I had so much fun pretending to be an old-school Bond girl at Tara’s event. There’s something so sexy and understated about vintage clothes and hair, and once I was all dolled up I felt truly fabulous! It was a great evening filled with cocktails, Christmas nibbles and general girliness, and it was lovely to spend time with the gorgeous Push PR girls, as well as Kylie fromย Memoir Modeย (who is the beautiful girl with me in the third photo!).

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! x

Sperry Angelfish and Bluefish Campus Shoes

Sperry Top-Sider shoes

Sperry

Here’s a little pre-Christmas treat! Sperry Top-Sider have brought their Angelfish campus style flats – this range is HUGE in the US – to the UK, available exclusively from Office. I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair. I have some Sperrys already and can safely say that they’re some of the comfiest shoes on the planet! While I love my heels and wedges and platforms and kittens, a girl always needs some comfortable but stylish flats for running out and about, and the Angelfish range is perfect for those types of days. I love the light brown and tartan pair – I could see Miranda Kerr wearing those with blue skinny jeans and a loose blouse.

Which is your favourite? x

Motel Jet Playsuit

Motel playsuit

playsuit: c/o Motel, shoes: c/o Nelly, bag: New Look, cuff: Warehouse, ring: Lazy Oaf

I’ve already got my New Years Eve outfit sorted! This Motel playsuit is killer, and just my kind of piece for a party – sexy without being too polished, and something you could wear in a more relaxed setting too. All Motel dresses and playsuits are amazing, so I’m glad to have this addition to my wardrobe. I’m also loving this cute little heart shaped bag and my new cat ring from Lazy Oaf. I have a jewellery piece for a character from each of my books, and in the one I’m writing at the moment there’s a black cat, so I had to grab this ring when I saw it! It’ll be my lucky charm to get me through writing the first draft!

If you love my playsuit, why not be cheeky and get it as a present for yourself? As a Christmas treat for my readers I have a code for you to get 20% off everything on Motel – including sale items! Just use the code girlinthelens when you checkout ๐Ÿ™‚ x

Leather Look Leggings

How to style leather leggings

Metal collar necklace

Chicwish shirt

Red shirt

Leather leggings outfit

coat: Sisley, shirt: c/o Chicwish, leggings : Hearts & Bows, necklace: ASOS

ย Every girl needs a pair of leather look leggings in her wardrobe. They’re chic and sexy, and update a simple shirt or tunic into a cooler style. I am still searching for the ultimate leather look trousers to wear in place of jeans with tees and tucked in shirts (I don’t like to wear leggings as trousers) but for now I’m enjoying styling these leggings from Hearts & Bows, and they are nice and thick unlike other leather look leggings I’ve tried before. For just under ยฃ20, they’re a bargain! I’m also in love with my new Chicwish shirt. The shape of it is just so gorgeous – it’s oversized but still feminine, and looks great buttoned right up or with a bit of flesh showing at the neck, and the material is just the softest. Plus, it’s the perfect level of sheer.

Hope everyone’s having a great week so far and looking forward to Christmas! I can’t believe it’s less than a week away x

Cutout Bodycon Dress

Cut out dress

Inkwear hummingbird temporary tattoo

Spike heels

Black bodycon dress

Nelly .com shoes

Girl in black dress

dress: c/o Gorgeous Couture, shoes: c/o Nelly, temporary tattoo: c/o Inkwear

As much as you all know I love prancing around outside bare legged in winter, I definitely wouldn’t be able to stand the cold in this cut out number! Callum and I aren’t too keen on indoor shots but I think he’s done so well here. We wanted something a bit playful and like those cool lookbooks you get with lots of flash and models tossing their hair around. I’m not a model though, so it didn’t quite work ๐Ÿ˜›

My oh my, the Gorgeous Couture Alexis is a sexy dress, but I think it stops short of the slutty line by the length and well-placed flashes of flesh. I am totally in love with it, and can’t wait to wear it for a Christmas or New Year party! I was also given these spiked shoes from Nelly, and they’re the perfect accompaniment to a dress like this to give the outfit some edge and hardness. I don’t own many nude heels, but maybe I should get more. The colour really elongates your legs. In the photos I’m also sporting an Inkwear temporary tattoo. I’d been seeing them doing the rounds on blogs, so I’m glad I finally got to try them, and I can confirm that they are so easy to use and the designs are just gorgeous – I love how this hummingbird one almost matches the logo of the jewellery company I work for, Cinderela B!
