10th December, 2012 This year, I’m doing my two Christmas present lists in collaboration with Shopcade, an amazing platform for all your shopping needs. It’s a little like Pinterest (you add items onto your own list, and you can arrange them into groups) but it’s more focused on shopping, whereas I like to keep Pinterest for inspiration and ideas. I’ve already picked out some gifts for the females in your life, from your bessie to a mother in law to a colleague, and now I’m on to the men. Guys are tricky to buy for, but I hope these presents give you some ideas 🙂
1. NOTHS Wall Art / 2. Topman Jumper / 3. UO Vinyl Clock / 4. Ray-Ban Wayfarers / 5. Ben Sherman Brogues / 6. Fred Perry Bag / 7. Adidas Originals Watch/ 8. UO Hip Flask
All items sourced via Shopcade
Most of these presents are pretty standard man gifts – watches, bags, other accessories – but my favourites are actually the ones which are a little different. The vinyl clock is a cool gift that will suit most men, whether it’s a brother, boyfriend or colleague, and the map-print hip flask is a super cool present for a father-in-law I think. I also love the custom-made wall art (1) from Not on the High Street. Along with Urban Outfitters, NOTHS is one of my favourite places to search for gifts. It’s got a tonne of amazing stuff for every single person you know, and the personalised gifts are amazing.

8th December, 2012
November was another good month here at Girl in the Lens 🙂 I started my new job running social media for lovely jewellery company Cinderela B, got half of my third novel done (though it’s not the one I’m getting published as my second book so that was a bit naughty!), launched my new author blog, and got all my Christmas shopping done super early! I also saw the month out with a huge night out in London with my girls, which was so nice.
Hope all your Novembers went well too and let me know which was your favourite outfit from this month! x

6th December, 2012
top: Marks and Spencer, skirt: c/o Nelly, shoes: c/o Barratts, bag: c/o Label MB, necklace: c/o Cinderela B
Red and black – one of my all time favourite colour combinations. Partly because they were my college colours back at uni, and partly because I love wearing red, and it just seems to naturally go beautifully with black. Here I pushed it a little further for this party outfit though and added a splash of bright purple with my gorgeous suede bag from Label MB, and sparkly gold shoes to give the look that Christmassy feel. I love these shoes – they really make me feel like a princess with their metallic gold shine, and the shape is just beautiful. I have to admit, I’ve been wearing this outfit a lot recently! I’m definitely one to recycle looks, and I love wearing the same style both for day and eveningwear. In the day I just team this outfit with black tights and boots for a more casual style. Easy peasy!

It’s a little like Pinterest (you add items onto your own list, and you can arrange them into groups) but it’s more focused on shopping, whereas I like to keep Pinterest for inspiration and ideas. I have already done all my Christmas shopping – super early, I know! – but I really love giving gifts so I’m forever looking for presents anyway. I’ve picked out some gifts for the females in your life, from your bessie to a mother in law to a colleague. I like presents with personality, but unless you’re 100% sure of the person you’re buying for, the sorts of gifts like the ones I selected above are good as they are still unique but not too individual. It’s not a surprise that so many of the items are from Urban Outffiters – they’re one of my favourite shops for presents due to their amazing homewear section. I might need to go there to start looking for presents for Christmas next year!!
My gift guide for the men in your life is coming next week x

4th December, 2012 I really don’t have enough sequins and gems in my wardrobe. There’s something about a sparkly dress that just oozes glamour, and they’re perfect for Christmas – you can look like you’ve been frosted in ice crystals too! Hehe. I’ve had fun being a little magpie today and have found five amazing bejewelled dresses that’d rock any Christmas party …
from left to right: Misses Dressy / BooHoo / Motel / Lipsy / Misses Dressy
I’m struggling to pick my favourite from these gorgeous dresses! I really love the cut at the front of the silver dress – it’s sexy but cool at the same time – and the other Misses Dressy dress is stunning too, with the mesh detailing giving it a bit more edge (Misses Dressy have loads more gorgeous dresses – check out their prom dresses, cocktail dresses and evening dresses). But I think the one I would get the most use out of is the Motel dress in the middle – the colour is amazing and I always love a long-sleeve. I just think it gives a more casual, edgy feel to a party dress which I like. And I have a 20% off discount code for my readers if any of you want to get it (or anything else from their site)! Just go to Motel and add ‘girlinthelens’ when you check out 🙂 they have some amazing party collections. Happy shopping girls! x
