top: French Connection, jeans: c/o Lee, shoes: c/o Sperry, bag: Topshop, belt: gift, hat: Marks and Spencerย
There’s something Parisian about this outfit, don’t you think? I think it’s the combination of breton stripes, blue jeans with the cuffs rolled up, a black hat and menswear-inspired shoes. Perhaps this is the universe trying to tell me to just book that holiday to Paris, ok? All right, universe. If you insist! ๐
I’m looking so happy in these photos because I’ve got that new shoe feeling. You know when you find a pair that fit perfectly, look great, are comfy enough to wear all day, AND go with a million and one outfits? That’s these shoes. They’re from Sperry, who usually do uber casual boat shoes, which I’ve always loved because they’re comfy and perfect for everyday wear. But these white-grey lace ups wouldn’t look out of place in somewhere like The Kooples or Reiss. The menswear-inspired design really gives them an edge. You can also wear them without the laces if you prefer. I’m finding them insanely easy to style. Just pop them on with any outfit, no matter how simple or whatever the occasion, and they finish it perfectly.
Can I also get a holla! for how amazing these jeans are? The colour is just so vibrant,ย andย they fit amazingly. Lee have come up with a selection of sunbleached colours perfect for summer. While I also love the pink and green versions, these blue jeans are great to introduce into your wardrobe as they’re easy to style (wear them with the same things you’d wear your dark indigo or light bleached denim shades) but add a little kick to your outfits. You can get find the whole range at Topshop and Selfridges, or on their website.
P.S. You might have noticed that I’m holding a copy of Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor in these photos. Being a total bookworm (I read at least two hours a day, mostly when I’m supposed to be sleeping) and an author, I’d thought I’d sometimes share with you books I’m currently loving. I’m actually rereading Daughter because the second in the trilogy is now out and I want to refresh my memory of what happened. Laini’s writing is so beautiful and the concept is just so divine – check it out if you like YA urban fantasy! ย x

Book that trip to Paris!..I love that place so much! Beautiful outfit and lovely photos. Breton stripes are very cool and very versatile also. Never heard of Laini Taylor but I am also an avid reader so will keep an eye out for this, thanks! xx
Aw great to hear Gina x
Love this outfit! Looks so cute and cozy and, indeed, Parisian. I’ve heard great things about that book, though I’ve also gathered that it’s not the type of YA urban fantasy I love. I’m a contemporary YA with fantasy elements sort of gal – not that I’ve been reading much this year! And I was doing so well last fall. But who knows; the latest books I’ve read (all from Connie Willis’s Oxford Time Travel series) are in a genre I’m not really drawn towards, but I’ve absolutely loved them. You just gotta find a way to hook me in. Connie Willis had it easy – “Oxford” and “time travel” are both instant ‘oooooh’s from me. ๐
You will LOVE my new book Lix! It’s the start of a four-book YA urban fantasy book that is contemporary with fantasy elements. You’re right, Daughter is the opposite way round really. x
Those shoes are just so beautiful! I need them! Gorgeous outfit x x x
Aren’t they the most gorgeous shoes ever?! x
Go to Paris, girl! I love those shoes. I enjoyed Daughter of Smoke & Bone, too. Might copy your style and do a quick re-read before I get the second one!
Do! I tried to start the new one but was so lost I stopped to re-read Daughter x
There’s something about stripes that we link directly to Paris, such a clichรจ right?

The jeans are gorgeous, I remember rockin’ Lee when I was just a little kid. I spotted some amazing Lee styles while in Oz last year, it’s so good to see the colourful ranges over here! x
