SMOOTH SUMMER SKIN
We all know it girls. As the weather gets warmer it can only mean one thing: it’s time for those winter peepers, those lovely legs that have been hiding beneath layers of denim, leather, tights and socks, to emerge from hibernation and say hello to the world! Ok, so it might not be quite so dramatic, but it’s definitely something most of us think about as we move into summer. I have to admit I’m super lazy when it comes to haircare of any sort. I get my hair cut once a year, colour it myself, and only remember to shave my legs minutes before I’m meant to be on my way out. So when Braun got in touch about trying their new epilator, the Silk-épil 9, I didn’t think I was the right girl for the job. But having used it, it now makes perfect sense that someone like me is exactly the type of person that should be using their epilator! It makes hair removal quick and easy, and unlike shaving lasts for up to four weeks. Perfect!
If you haven’t used an epilator before, don’t worry – until yesterday, I was the same! The main worry I had was whether it would have the same smooth result as shaving. I’ve had my legs waxed once before, years ago, and the issue then was that not all the hairs were removed. I thought it would be the same with the epilator. Braun reassured me that their new Silk-épil 9 can remove hairs four times shorter than waxing, and after trying it out yesterday my pins are definitely super smooth, just like shaving! Another great thing about the epilator is that it can be used in the shower and tub since it is water resistant, so there’s no absolutely no awkward squatting on the bathroom floor involved! All in all, it was a far quicker and easy experience than I anticipated. And the best thing is – I can now go back to being my lazy self for another four weeks 😉 so embrace your smooth-skin confidence this summer with the new Braun Silk-épil 9 and let your legs #BreakFree!

OFF AND OVER
An off-shoulder jumper dress and over-the-knee boots is my new go-to combination after discovering this little pairing last weekend. These are my first pair of over-the-knees, and I have to say I’m a convert! Not only are they great for keeping your pins warm in this unpredictable spring weather, but there’s something just so chic and sexy about them too. I also took the jump and invested in a duster trench. All my coats are packed away in storage until the winter (perhaps a premature move on my part, blame wishful thinking!) and a duster is the perfect breezy coverup as we wait for the temperatures to rise.
A bit like the weather, it’s been one of those months full of both highs and lows. We’re still waiting on moving into our new flat because part of our chain fell through, so that means we’re back with the parents for now, living out of boxes. Frustrating! But there’s nothing to be done, so I’m trying to embrace this new lifestyle – and be thankful we’re lucky enough to have somewhere to stay in the meantime. On the flip side, a high came at the end of April when I finished the first draft of my new book! There’s still a long way to go, of course, and this is only the start of what will certainly be a long, long process. But it feels great to take some time off and let my mind breathe after all those months of intense writing. I can’t wait to share more about this book with you all. As always, it feels like a little piece of my heart lives within these words.

This weekend we’re off to Amsterdam with a couple of friends, and we have a fun shoot with one of my favourite brands planned whilst we’re over there (hint – it has something to do with tulips). I’m so excited! Amsterdam has long been on my travel wishlist. #ALLABOUTDENIM
Denim is always there: a staple, a wardrobe must-have, something we all have a lot of in our closets. And yet, like things that are always there for us – hot water, the stars and the moon, our better half – it’s easy to take for granted. Denim doesn’t just have to be a background piece, a foundation for more interesting items. It can be the star of the show too! That’s what Forever 21’s latest campaign #allaboutdenim is for – to celebrate our simple wardrobe hero. To give you some inspiration on how to up your denim ante, I teamed up with my blogger bestie Toni from Fashitects for an editorial shoot with three different denim looks. If you know Toni’s blog (and you should, it’s gorgeous) he’s rarely out of a suit, so styling denim looks with him was a chance for us to both get him into more casual attire as well as demonstrate that denim can be smart too.

Our photographer was the super-talented Bon, who was so much fun to shoot with even though we only had an hour to get the shots done and were practically running around half-dressed on one of the coldest days of the year, brr! COFFEE BREAK
Coffee, crisp air and cosy clothes – it’s what wintry weekends are all about. Though I’m ready for for some warmer weather to arrive (I was ready before summer even ended last year haha ..!) one of the things I love best about winter is getting to wear coats and jumpers every day. I get my hibernation mode on and pretty much live in the grey vintage jumper I’m wearing in these shots. You probably wouldn’t guess but this jumper is actually one of my most treasured possessions – my mum wore it when she was pregnant with me and looking after me as a baby, which is maybe why I always feel so comforted as soon as I pull it on, as though I’m cosying up in something so filled with love. It’s a precious thought.
Newer pieces I’m wearing here and quickly falling in love with are my tartan coat from Forever 21 (I’ve sworn by Forever 21 this winter season, so impressed with their range and on-point styles, and hope it’ll be the same with their new season collections) and slinky leather-look jeans from 7 For All Mankind.
