Boohoo
I get sent a look of lookbooks through to my email – too many to feature them all – but this one really caught my attention, so I wanted to share it with you guys. It’s from online brand Boohoo, who are launching their first ever exclusive capsule collection. Baroque and gothic romance have been huge trends this Autumn/Winter, which I talked about way back at River Island’s press day in May, but I love how Boohoo haven’t gone too literal with it and have incorporated really feminine silhouettes and textures to keep these trends wearable. With prices starting from £20, it’s all super affordable too. I’ve got my eye on that killer leather-trim jacket in the first outfit and the black harness dress in the second.

dress: H&M, shoes: c/o StylistPick, necklace: Miss Selfridge
Another red dress! I’m obsessed. This one’s more of a coral colour, verging on the edge of pink, but it’s in-your-face girly colour is tempered by the cool cut of it – it’s a long-sleeved t shirt dress, basically. I got it for something like £20 from H&M, which is such a bargain for a killer dress that’ll make you feel amazing when you wear it. Although I have to admit, it is a very unforgiving dress, so I only wear it on days where my confidence is able to match it. It’s great paired with all sorts of shoes – Converse for the day, sexy ankle-strap heels for a more sultry look. I like the cool vibe these StylistPick boots give the whole look though, and their nude colour really helps elongate your legs.

shirt: c/o French Connection via John Lewis, trousers: c/o Marks & Spencer, bag: Topshop, shoes: c/o StylistPick, watch: c/o Guess
I know some girls are afraid of dressing in shapes that hide their figures, but for some reason I’ve always loved mannish silhouettes. I think as long as you keep some parts of the outfit tailored and your make-up feminine, it can still be cool and boyish without losing all sex appeal. This French Connection men’s shirt is great for adding just that right amount of masculinity to an outfit – I love the subtle spot pattern on the fabric – and I’ve also been wearing it tucked into skinny jeans and denim shorts for a more casual look.
Happy Friday everyone and I hope you all have a great weekend. I’ve got a friend from uni coming to visit and we’re going to go all out tourist on London! Having worked and lived in London for a while, it’s nice to forget all about the frustration that comes with being there 24/7 (hello tube in the summer, I’m looking at you) and just enjoy the city for the amazing place it is. x

11th October, 2012 This week I’m taking part in a cool project by Adidas Neo where fourteen bloggers have to style as many outfits as they can with four items we were sent by the brand. The blogger with the most outfits at the end of the week wins. Now I was never gonna win this challenge – Callum’s shifts in London mean that by the time he gets home it’s already dark, and we don’t really like taking outfit photos inside. But we managed to get a few outfits done yesterday as he had a day off, so here they are …

jacket: c/o Adidas Neo, top: The Orphan’s Arms, jeans: c/o Fashion Union, trainers: StylistPick

top: c/o Adidas Neo, trousers: River Island via ASOS, shoes: c/o Wallis, bag: Select Fashion

jacket: c/o Adidas Neo, dress: French Connection, shoes: Kurt Geiger

jacket: Bench, top: c/o Amplified, trousers: c/o Adidas Neo, boots: Schuh
Which is your favourite look? I’m loving the last one as these harem pants are quite possibly the coolest thing ever. They’re such a good fit, and ridiculously comfy. I know the drop-crotch isn’t everyone’s thing, but I like boyish silhouettes, and they can be girlied up with heels and smarter styling if you really want. I’m also loving the red Adidas jacket in the first outfit. I think this is going to become a staple piece in my wardrobe. It adds an instant sports luxe feel to any look, and the colours will go with most things. The competition is running until Sunday midnight so I might be able to get a few more outfits in this week.

coat: Sisley, shirt: Topshop, skirt: H&M, shoes: c/o StylistPick, watch: c/o Daniel Wellington, hat: H&M
I was having a snoop around my mum’s closet and stumbled upon this beauty of a coat. I love the shape – it’s mannish but still has a femininity about it, and I’ve been wearing it non-stop now the weather’s turned cold. This is another outfit from the week’s challenge I did with StylistPick to style these boots in different ways, and it’s one of my favourite looks – simple, modern, with a polish to it that still keeps it youthful. As much as I moan about winter and I’ll always be as summer girl at heart, I have to admit it has been fun dressing for the new season. How are you all finding the transition? x
