70’S BABY

*HAPPY NEW YEAR MY LITTLE SUGARCUBES!* If you can’t tell, I’m rather excited about the start of 2016! While every day should be an opportunity for a fresh start, there’s something satisfying narratively about the blank slate a new year offers – like the fresh, crisp page of a new notebook. It’s a time for beginnings. For re-imaginings. If I’m being completely honest, 2015 was one of the hardest years I’ve ever had, both personally and work-wise. Every week seemed to present a new challenge, sometimes many at once. Many more than I felt capable of handling. But I got through it with the help of amazing friends, my family, persistence, patience and a little bit of luck and dreaming, and now I’m ready to rock 2016. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again – I have a good feeling about this one. For all of us.

Kicking off a new year of blogging, here’s a mini photoshoot I did over London Fashion Week with the lovely Amber Rose. I wasn’t quick to get onto the 70’s trend that dominated 2015, but then I found this little suede skirt and this little suede bag and these little suede boots and they went so perfectly together I couldn’t resist! I’ve basically had this outfit on repeat with a big cosy jumper for casual daytime elegance. Jewels from Rebecca Jewellery and Cinderela B complete the look.

Wishing you all a lovely, lovely week. I hope getting back into the swing of things after the Christmas break isn’t too painful! If you’re like me, all the leftover Xmas chocolate will definitely be helping the transition 😉 x
