Pin it Forward!

Let me put my hands up and admit it outright – I’m an addict. There is something in my life that sucks away hours of my time but I can’t seem to prise myself away from it. To even think about a day where we should ever be parted brings tears to my eyes. Yes, ladies and gents, I confess – I am hopelessly, completely, addicted to Pinterest.

For those fellow addicts reading this, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Pinterest is like an online scrapbook, a beautiful site where you can let your creativity go wild and unleash the inner digital hoarder in you. It’s also crazily useful. Keep a record of food recipes and beauty how-tos, travel destinations and fashion wish-lists, all in one place – just use the Pin It Button when you come across something you like the look off, et voila! And your Pinterest page is totally customisable to how you want to use it. You can keep it simple like me with just a few main boards (collections of pins) or go wild and have hundreds for every theme you can think of.

While Pinterest is rather US-centric, they’re set on changing that, with a new dedicated UK site and worldwide expansion plans. So if you want to join the HPA club (hopeless Pinterest addicts) then sign up here and start your Pinterest love affair now! If you need more convincing, here’s a taster of my boards and what I like to use them for …

Fashion style Pinterest boards

Having one of those I don’t know what to wear I hate everything in my closet days? No sweat – just hop onto Pinterest and browse your style board for inspiration. Here’s my fashion board.

Beauty Pinterest boards

I use my beauty board to keep a collection of hairstyles, nail art designs and make up to try. I’m so useless with cosmetics, so this is an easy way for me to collect tutorials and find new products and styles to recreate.

Home decor design Pinterest board

At the moment, my home design board is basically dream-house porn for me, but when I get my own place I’ll be checking these pins for decor inspiration and interior design DIY tutorials.

Food Pinterest boards

Be warned, my food board is 100% guaranteed to induce drool. I love browsing it for recipes I want to try out, and it means that you never need to cut out recipes and lose them ever again.

So what do you think? Convinced now? Great! Sign up here to get started with Pinterest. And be sure to check out the next blogger on the Pin it Forward campaign, the lovely Girl a la Mode, who’ll be sharing her Pinterest boards with you all too. x

Summer Music Festival Outfits

When the sun pops out, all I want to do is run outside in a cute little outfit, something that makes me feel happy and free. This outfit is exactly that – happy and free. I didn’t even realise until writing up this post that I colour co-ordinated (yellow and blue with pink and black accents), because I literally just threw this on in five minutes and ran out the door. If I was going to a music festival this summer I’d definitely be wearing this outfit, as it’s easy and cute and playful, and you could throw a parka on if it rains (because let’s face it – it will).

This Paul’s Boutique bag is also a festival must-have as it can literally fit my whole house inside it. Hehe ok, so it’s not that big, but it’s a bit like Hermione’s bag in Deathly Hallows – it never seems to get full no matter how much you throw in it! I am obsessed with all Paul’s Boutique’s bags at the moment. I love how far they’ve come from their bling bling roots (remember those glitzy diamante jackets?), and their recent collections are so sophisticated and beautifully shaped, whilst still keeping their trademark quirkiness and bright colours. It’s almost as if they design just for me, as that’s exactly how I’d describe my style too! x

Skullcandy Navigator Headphones

shirt: Topshop, skirt: Topshop, shoes: Converse, headphones: c/o Skullcandy

When the sun’s out, all I need is my Converse, a playful print, a short short skirt (more skin surface to tan!) and some good music and I’m one happy bunny. As you’ve no doubt noticed by now due to my recent outfit posts, I’m a teeny bit obsessed with polka dots, and I was so excited to add this Topshop shirt to my growing spotty collection. How cute is it! I’m actually wearing it right now as I type this with black skinnies and boots. I’m also loving this Topshop skirt. All girls need a good denim mini in their wardrobe, and the a-line style of this one is perfect to add a retro feel to any outfit.

Skullcandy sent me these super cute pink headphones in their new Navigator style to try out, and Callum and I thought it’d be fun to photograph them in this retro-themed shoot. I haven’t used headphones for years! I’m just so used to my earplugs. But I’ve got to say, I’m so happy I’ve got these now as a good pair of headphones make a world of difference. Not only are these adorable in the pink (they also come in white, black and blue), but the sound quality is amazing. I was dancing around to Bruno Mars’ Treasure whilst Callum took these snaps, and I could barely hear him shouting instructions out to me due to the noise insulation. Even Callum had a go with them (the biggest audiophile ever – he once drove all the way to Wales to pick up these battered old speakers he already has just because they were a bargain on eBay and he couldn’t ignore the chance), and gave them a massive thumbs up. He now wants to buy a pair – just not in pink 😉 x

Take 10 Challenge – Warehouse Denim

Take 10 UK fashion bloggers

For this Take 10 challenge, me and the girls were sent pieces from Warehouse’s gorgeous new denim range to style up however we liked. I was lucky enough to receive these hot ripped skinnies – can you believe, before this I didn’t own a single pair of black jeans?! – and, though they’re so versatile you can pretty much style them with anything and they’ll look great, I went for a simple polkadot blouse. I just cannot get enough of polkadots at the moment – spotted pieces are invading my closet! It’s just such a fun print that makes you feel happy the instant you wear it, and what more could we ask from our clothes? x

All items sourced via Shopcade

Yes, it’s that time of year again guys! Though you wouldn’t believe it looking out the window (here in the UK we’re being thoroughly spoilt with rain and grey skies and under 10 degrees temperatures), summer is on it’s way, so it’s off we go on the hunt for new sunnies. Red Hot Sunglasses and ASOS (of course – whenever is it not?) are my go-to places to sunnies shopping, but I’ve looked a little farther this time and found some gems. I have always wanted a pair of heart-shaped sunnies, as they’re just so cute and playful, and at just £9 I couldn’t resist these Vans ones! And what sunglasses wishlist would be complete without Ray-Ban Wayfarers?

What sunnies are you after this summer? x
