Sunset Skirt and Silver Shoes

The autumnal colours are so pretty right now it’s hard to wear anything that matches their beauty! But I think this gorgeous sunset-print skirt from Chicwish does a good job. I can’t wait to wear this skirt for a more sophisticated look with a tucked in shirt and heels, but right now I’ve been wearing it with my winter staple of a band jumper and trainers. These crazily silver Miss KG sneaks are so cool and surprisingly versatile – they look amazing with a very simple all-black winter outfit or just with jeans and a tee.

I hope everyone’s had a great weekend and are settling into the new week 🙂 my mum came home last night after two and a half months back in Malaysia, so I’m looking forward to spending some time catching up with her when I’m not at work or blogger events. Man the Christmas season is crazy this year! I have events spilling out of my ears. Have had to turn down some great things which is a shame but that’s the way it goes. I’m excited for the events I am attending though. What are you guys all up to? x

Call it Spring

Call it Spring, part of the ALDO Group, are a shoes and accessories brand already huge in the rest of the world, with over 200 stores across the US, Canada, the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Last week, they invited me along to their preview breakfast to check out their very first UK store, in prime location on Oxford Street. I am a huge fan of ALDO, so I was super excited to see what Call it Spring have to offer, especially as they cater for a slightly younger audience, with their products hitting key trends but at completely affordable price points.

I was really impressed with their range – they have covered all the styles and trends that we’re seeing in other brands, but their design is slightly elevated than most, with gorgeous little details I haven’t seen much of before, such as very thin metal toe-caps rather than ones that cover the whole toe of the shoe, and lace panelled brogues. They also have a mouth-watering selection of boots perfect for winter. The store itself is also really cool, with an ‘indoors meets outdoors’ concept that offer both genders a different shopping space in one place.

I can really see Call it Spring catching the eye of Oxford Street shoppers, and if you want to check it out for yourself then why not come along to the launch party this Friday? British singer/songwriter Lucy Rose will be playing an exclusive acoustic set, and there’ll be lots of shopping and special goodies as well. 7.00pm on Friday 23 November, 146-148 Oxford Street, London, W1D 1NB. Hope to see you there!

Oversized Tee and a Little Skirt

Oversized t shirt and little skirt

Grey nails and glitter

Black trilby hat

top: c/o The Orphan’s Arms, skirt: Topshop, boots: SixtySeven, hat: Marks and Spencer, bag: Topshop

I have realised something – almost all my outfits are either fairly proportional or have something oversized on top with something smaller on the bottom! I rarely wear something larger on the bottom (though I do want to start experimenting more with boyfriend jeans – I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair for years and still haven’t found them!). I think it’s probably just because that’s what I’ve found suits my body shape. I also like my outfits to look a bit relaxed, and I think oversized tops always manage that.

The weather has been all over the place recently in terms of heat. There were a few weeks last month that were incredibly cold, and then this month we’ve had quite a few warm days where you can go bare legged and wear more summery clothes. This outfit was worn on one of those days. I love the splash of colour with the skirt and bag. Also – does anyone else think a black trilby hat can sometimes just complete an outfit so effortlessly? I’ve definitely been wearing mine more with simple looks to finish them off.

Festive Christmas Outfit

Helloooooooooooooooo Christmas! Now I’m not even a Christmas person (it was never a big deal in my house growing up), but this year I’m feeling all festive, and it’s only November! I blame the amazing BooHoo event last night – not only was it at the Ice Bar – which, unsurprisingly, lives up to its name – but there were also Christmas decorations, Christmas food and drink, and Christmas knits (the most important of all, obviously!). To fuel my festive spirit, I’ve scoured the internet for some beautiful clothes and accessories that will definitely get you in the Christmas mood too …

 Christmassy outfit

1. Dolci Gioie Gingerbread Man Earrings, £82.36

2. Tatty Divine Christmas Spirit Necklace, £85

3. Topshop Polar Bear Jumper, £50

4. New Look Reindeer Briefs, £2.99

5. Topman Snowman Socks, £3.50

6. Nightmare Before Christmas Converse, £142.22

7. River Island Reindeer Leggings, £22

8. River Island Christmas Pudding Beanie, £15

I love all these items separately, but together this is probably the most Christmassy outfit on the planet! My favourite items are the super cute little briefs from New Look and that Topshop polar bear jumper – how nice! If you fancy a less literal translation than some of these items (so you don’t end up looking like a walking Christmas tree) you could try some beautiful emerald and diamond rings for a flash of festive green and Christmas sparkle, or a cute fairisle jumper like this one from BooHoo. Glitter nailpolish like this Model Owns shade are also perfect for adding a bit of festive fun to any outfit!

If you’ve found any any Christmas fashion beauties let me know in the comments x

L. K. Bennett SS13 Blogger Preview

Last week, I went along to L. K. Bennett’s beautiful showroom to get a very exclusive preview of their SS13 before – they’d invited a select group of bloggers to see the collection the night before their official press event. The evening was hands down one of the best blogger events I’ve ever been to – fantastic company, drinks and canapes, and of course, clothes! I was pleasantly surprised by the SS13 collection. L. K. Bennett have managed a very delicate balance between young and mature, vintage and modern. They have created what I call a ‘mum and daughter collection’ – something that has pieces both me and my mum would wear, but that we’d style in entirely different ways. Take a look for yourselves …

Make sure you have a look at the gorgeous AW collection on L. K. Bennett’s website whilst you wait for these gorgeous SS13 pieces to arrive. I personally can’t wait for the Caroline Issa range – it’s fun, girly but completely sophisticated and sexy at the same time.

P.S. Thank you to L. K. Bennett for these photos – unfortunately Callum was ill so couldn’t make the event!
