Christmas with Gorgeous Couture

Are you feeling …

Gorgeous Couture Christmas party dresses

naughty: Alexis dress / nice: Amelia dress

Gorgeous Couture have got your Christmas parties covered with their amazing dresses. Their slinky fabrics and made-to-measure service mean you can always find something that fits like a dream and makes you feel HOT. My favourites from this season’s collection are these two dresses – the super sexy Alexis dress in a striking red for when you’re feeling a bit devilish – team it with a peek of cool body jewellery to make use of those cut outs and black accessories – and the angelic Amelia dress, which is sophisticated and elegant whilst still packing a punch. I’d wear the Amelia with chunky silver heels and a studded clutch like this Lulu Guinness number to keep it cool and young.

So what will you be this Christmas – naughty or nice? 😉

Jewellery Design for Giveaway – You Decide

I’ve had the chance to do some amazing collaborations with brands over the course of my blog, but one of my favourites has to be the giveaway I’ll be running with jewellery designer Mei-Li Rose. She’s designed a completely unique jewellery item to give to me and one of my readers. We shared ideas and inspiration for the design, and settled upon something that really captured the essence of Girl in the Lens without being too literal and keeping to Mei-Li’s aesthetic of ‘bold and distinctive’, with lots of geometric shapes and hard angles. You can see the two final designs Mei-Li created below …

Girl in the Lens X Mei-Li Rose jewellery design

Like all Mei-Li Rose designs, the product will be handmade in London, using traditional methods of wax carving and hand piercing, and produced in sterling silver, rose gold or or yellow gold vermeil plating. Now, I’ll be receiving a ring version of the design, while one of you will be getting a pendant version, so you can wear it as a necklace or bracelet. We thought that we’d get you girls as involved as possible in the process, so this is what we want you to do:

– Have a look at the two designs above

– Tell me which you prefer in a comment below

– If you have an opinion on whether you’d like the pendant to be silver, rose-gold or yellow gold, do add that in

Then I’ll have a look through your comments and take on your ideas so we can create a pendant to giveaway that will be most popular with you all 🙂 I can’t wait to hear what you all think! x

Sequin Top

Sequin top outfit

Sequin crop top

Neon satchel outfit

Wearing sequins for daywear

Sheer panel t shirt

Styling a sequin t shirt

top: c/o Republic, skirt: Topshop, boots: c/o Chockers

I don’t really have anything else like this Miso sequin top in my wardrobe. I love how it straddles daywear and partywear – it’s flirty and girly but not too cute, and looks just as cool for casual styles with high-waisted jeans or a simple maxi skirt. Here I wanted a fun outfit for lunch with my friends in town, so I teamed the top with a skater skirt and wedges (it was nippy out so had to add some socks!). I also wore my neon satchel to add a bit of colour, as although the sequins are really colourful, their effect is actually very subtle. To be honest, I was worried abut how difficult it would be to style a sequin t shirt, but it’s actually surprisingly easy! I’m sure this little tee is going to become a staple on this blog x
