I was lucky enough to work with Kipling on their Bags Hold Stories campaign, where they created a custom made bag for a select number of bloggers from a photo each blogger sent in. I found it so difficult to decide what picture to use that I sent Kipling a few to choose from, and they ended up making this gorgeous beauty from a photo I took with my old Lomo camera of a motorway tunnel! It’s such an amazing bag, and it’s lovely to have something that is completely, 100% unique.

The good news is that Kipling are now offering five others the chance to win their custom bag, as well as having their winning image beamed onto interactive windows at London Kipling stores, including Westfield and the Brompton Road flagship shop! Pretty amazing huh? If you’d like a chance at winning, click here to go to the competition Facebook app. Good luck lovelies! I think it’s a great competition as you’ll win something truly original and personal. I completely agree with Kipling that bags hold stories – I love emptying my bag after a holiday or night out and reliving my memories through what’s found its way inside!

Love from Australia at Freeze Festival 2012

Last month, I went along to the Freeze Festival with the gorgeous Love from Australia girlies to do some style reporting for them. Other than being THE COLDEST DAY IN HISTORY, it was a fun day full of mulled wine, crazy snowboarding antics and some super cool styles. Check out the video here …

Cosy Weekend Outfit

Speckly jumper

Grey knee-length boots

Etre touch gloves

Hair scarf bun

Jumper and boots

jumper: T. K. Maxx, shorts: Nasty Gal, boots: c/o  Deichmann, bag: Select, gloves: c/o Etre, hair scarf: River Island

I’m definitely not claiming this to be the world’s most fashionable outfit, but sometimes you just fancy cuddling up in a big snuggly jumper and wearing some easy shoes at the weekend. I love long walks in Autumn – especially when it’s bright and dry out. It’s so crisp and fresh, and you really feel like winter’s on its way. One of my winter essentials are my new touch gloves from Etre. They have the tips of the index finger and thumb cut off so you can use your touch phone whilst keeping your hands warm – a life saver for bloggers and anyone else who needs their phones on the go! I also love the white and blue stripe pattern. It looks great with all outfits and there’s something very British about it.

I hope you’re all looking forward to the weekend! I’ve been having the busiest few weeks of my life, so I can’t wait to take it a bit easy (after a big night out tonight in London with my girls of course ;))

Contrast Sleeve Coat

Winter outfit

Contrast sleeve coat

Brown military boots

Winter style

Spiked collar necklace

top: H&M, trousers: Urban Outfitters, coat: c/o Next, shoes: c/o Call it Spring, bag: c/o L. K. Bennett, necklace: ASOS

Next were kind enough to give me a voucher to spend in their store, and I had a really fun (and hard!) time browsing through their amazing AW12 collections, trying to choose what I liked best. I settled on this cool military-inspired coat, as a girl can never have too many winter coats. I love the quilted sleeves and the leather-trim detailing, and the curved shape of the hem at the front is really different and interesting, adding femininity to the otherwise quite masculine design.

I’m also super excited to show off to you all my amazing new bag from L. K. Bennett. It’s such a beauty. My mum was so jealous when I showed it to her! The quality is everything you’d expect from L. K. Bennett, but the design is cool too, with the twist-knots on the front giving it an edge and the neutral colour making it ridiculously versatile. The coat and bag in this outfit are definitely two of my favourite new additions to my winter wardrobe.

M&S always have the most beautiful press days, but I have to be honest – I’m not always too impressed with the collections on show. I already adore M&S lingerie – more on that later – but it’s their clothes and accessories that I’ve never really taken to. However, after seeing the things on offer for SS13, I’m very impressed. All the key trends I saw at other press days were hit – neo-tribalism, monochrome, updated heritage fabrics, feminine textures – and with a little more modern finishes than I usually see in M&S, and they had some gorgeous colours I didn’t see at other press days. I particularly loved the quality and range of fabrics they used. There was also that ‘mum and daughter collection’ vibe that I talked about at the L. K. Bennett SS13 blogger preview, where one piece would be styled very differently by a mum and her daughter, but both would see it in the shops and want to buy it.

Out of everything though, my favourite things at the press day were in the lingerie section. M&S showcased some amazing new technologies I haven’t seen anywhere else before, including a breathable sports bra with a seamless push up to give you more confidence in the gym, and a bra that provides uplift without having any under-wire, and I can’t wait to get some for myself. Bring on SS13!
