Stripy Long Socks and Mint Green Backpack

Colourful winter outfit

Striped long socks

White knit dress

Rainy day outfit

dress: c/o Republic, socks: Marc Jacobs, shose: Sam Edelman, bag: c/o Chicwish

As you all know by now, I love wearing colours, so when winter comes along I can get a little sick of all the blacks and greys and khakis that float around. For this outfit, I just fancied an explosion of colour. Partly to combat the dreariness of a grey, rainy day, and partly because I was feeling like wearing something fun! The star of the show are definitely my Marc Jacobs long stripy socks. They were actually a present from my parents – stylish rents hey! – and this is the first time I got to wear them out. I’d been wearing them in the house for comfy loungewear, but I actually love how they look with heels and a dress. This mint green backpack from Chicwish is also pretty cool. It’s the perfect shape for carrying your every day things, and the colour is just gorgeous. Plus, the quality is fantastic for the price. I have a feeling it’ll be seeing a lot of use in summer too when pastels are in their element.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far, and look out for my next post – I have an exciting brand collaboration/giveaway to announce! x

Giveaway! Black Bag from Label MB

* This giveaway has now closed and the winner has been notified *

Disco pants casual outfit

Oversized jumper

Disco pants dupe copy

Winter outfit inspiration

Black leather shoulder bag

jumper: T K Maxx, trousers: c/o Glamorous, shoes: Zara, bag: c/o Label MB

I have fallen seriously in love with these American Apparel A Disco Pants dupes from Glamorous. In my opinion, they are even nicer than the original – the colour is more of a charcoal than straight black, which is a bit more interesting, and they fit like a dream! I had to sell my AA pair because I was between sizes, and they just didn’t quite fit right, whereas the Glamorous have actual sizes (8/10 rather than XS/S etc) so I find they fit much better.

Anyway, the star of this outfit has to be this Alana bowler bag from Label MB, which I’m giving you all the chance to win in my new giveaway 🙂 it is such a versatile bag, and though it’s a simple black bag, the little gold details give it that bit of edge. I also love the shape – it fits everything you might need, whilst not being too big or clumsy looking. I am seriously jealous of whoever wins the giveaway, as I’ve only got this one bag and it’ll be going to one of you! But I think it’s about time I gave something back to you all, no? So, if you’re interested in winning this beautiful bag (and why would you not be?!) here are the instructions to follow …

Ombre Jumper

Ombre jumper outfit

Poppy Bracelet Claudia Bradby

Dip dye jumper

Ombre knit jumper

jumper: c/o Republic, trousers: H&M, bag: Topshop, bracelet: c/o Claudia Bradby

Knits are the best thing about winter (apart from long romantic walks and hot chocolate and Christmas and log  fires and … ok, there are quite a few good things about winter), and I’m absolutely loving the ombre trend for AW12 knitwear. This angora jumper from Vila is beautiful. I think it looks far more expensive than it is, and the bluish dip dye is so cool. I wanted to show it off with a really simple outfit here, so I just let the dip dye show itself off against the black skinnies and boots, but it would also be great for workwear or even a sexy dinner date outfit with a little leather skirt and heels. In these photos I’m also wearing my new bracelet from Claudia Bradby, designed in support of the Royal British Legion in this year’s Poppy Appeal – the bracelets cost £38 each with £5 of each sale donated to the Royal British Legion. It’s always nice to know your money is going to a good cause x

Heart Print Jumper

Wedge trainers outfit

Heart print jumper

Heart print jumper outfit

White wedge sneakers

Oversized jumper and skirt

jumper: c/o Krisp, skirt: Zara, shoes: StylistPick

This outfit definitely makes me feel like a ten year-old, but hey, sometimes you’ve got to channel the inner child in you! I have always been a fan of the jumper-and-skirt combo – you can make it smart for work with a pencil skirt and cable knit jumper, or go grungey with a slashed knit and acid wash skirt. It’s one of those styles which offers so many different possibilities. Here I was just feeling like something fun and cute, but to keep it from being too sweet I styled it with my white wedge trainers. They’re the perfect thing to add to any outfit to give it a modern and cool twist.

Wonderbra’s Haul of Fame Competition

I recently had the amazing news that I’d been selected as a finalist in Wonderbra’s Haul of Fame competition, which asked girls to submit a look based around a particular event (I picked this menswear-inspired work outfit) in order to win a £1,000 shopping spree and a night in a London hotel for them and their BFF. How amazing! For the final round of the competition, Wonderbra came round to my house last week to shoot a haul video. The girl who gets the most votes on her video wins. I’m not keen on voting competitions, as it always seems to come down to whoever bugs their friends the most wins, but this is such an awesome prize so I’m going to give it my all! Plus, I haven’t spent enough time with my BFF lately and I’d love to treat her to this girly package. If you’d like to help me out, just click the link below and follow the simple steps to vote.

VOTE HERE

And here’s the video I made! I’ve never done a haul before, so it was an interesting experience, but I’m finding it so awkward watching myself back 😛

To say thank you – not only for this, but for generally being the most awesome readers a blogger could have – I’ve organised three amazing giveaways which are coming up on the blog very soon. They include two of my favourite things in the world (hello SHOES and BAGS) so keep your eyes peeled x
