Casper & Pearl
No one’s gonna complain this little white dress is too girly. It’s totally kick ass, with its harness style detail and modern cut out at the back. Want want WANT! Casper & Pearl’s first collection isn’t out for a while yet (sob) but for now I’m following their gorgeous blog for inspiration, teasers and info. Yet another young Australian label for me to keep my eye on …
Ps. I didn’t have a post scheduled for today but I just realised – it’s Girl in the Lens’s first birthday! Our little blog is one year old! I can’t believe we’ve been doing this for a year already. We’ve had some great times and fantastic opportunities, so just wanted to say a big thank you to all our lovely readers, and let’s hope our second year of blogging brings about just as much merriment and adventures!

dress: c/o Madam Rage, boots: Topshop, bag: River Island, hat: Marks and Spencer
Even though it’s only just turned September, I swear I can feel Winter in the air! So the boots are back out and I’m trying to wean myself off pretty summer dresses by wearing my favourite transitional combo – a cute little dress toughened up with black accessories. I love the neckline of this dress, it’s quite unusual and gives it a more modern feel, and the print is abstract enough not to seem too girly. Just a simple outfit for walking around town at the weekend.

Here’s a compilation of August’s outfits! It was a really good month for me – I got my first edit done on my novel with my lovely agent, we FINALLY got some sun here in the UK, and we did a load of fun things with brands for the blog. Looking forward to seeing what September has in store 🙂 hope you all had a great month!
Which was your favourite outfit from August?

dress: Motel, shoes: SixtySeven, bag: Warehouse, watch: c/o Sekonda
Motel dresses are just plain kick ass. I love styling bodycon dresses for the day too as well as for going out, and Motel dresses are perfect for that. They’ve got the coolest prints, amazing use of colour, and they’re cut in such a way that they’re both sexy and elegant at the same time. I’ve got a new one now for what will be I’m sure a huge collection (see my other Motel dress outfit here). I got this beautiful cityscape dress in the ASOS sale for just £20. I love the metallic bag against the minty blue colour of the dress.

jumper: LOVE via ASOS, skirt: Jane Norman, boots: c/o Love from Australia
I’m the first to admit that I’m not a fan of sheepskin boots, but when I was sent these to style, I was surprised by how much I liked them them! Love from Australia’s designs are really cool, and these black boots are going to be great for winter as they can go with so many outfits. It was still a bit too warm to wear them with jeans or leather trousers, so here I went for a flirty ra-ra skirt with an oversized jumper for a cosy transitional outfit. If you like my outfit, you can vote for me here in their styling competition by liking their page and then liking this photo, or just go along to their page to get more inspiration from the other bloggers’ styling. If you do vote, you get a £20 gift voucher to spend on two new Love from Australia collections though, so that might be an incentive 😉
Ps. Hope all of you in the UK had a lovely bank holiday! I work from home at the moment, so it didn’t really affect me, but it was lovely to spend more time with my friends and Callum.
