Giveaway! Win a £50 StylistPick Voucher

*This giveaway is now closed and the winner has been notified*

So another giveaway ends and another one begins! I’ve been in love with StylistPick ever since they launched, and have enjoyed watching their journey from a small styling site with a limited collection of shoes to a really cool, fashion-forward shop that cater for all and any tastes, so I’m really excited to be offering one of my lovely readers a £50 voucher to spend on anything on their site!

For me, the best thing about StylistPick are their totally on-trend shoes (you can see me wearing a pair of their gorgeous shoes in this outfit post). You could spend your £50 voucher on any of the shoes below – these cool contrast-colour sandals, these gorgeous pink going-out heels, and (I bought these shoes cause they’re so amazing) these Isabel Marant-inspired white wedge trainers.

StylistPick - Shoes

If none of their shoes take your fancy (though I’d be so surprised if this is true!), StylistPick now have a great range of clothes to choose from as well, such as these gorgeous printed scalloped shorts, this sweet pastel-green dress and this cool grey maxi dress.

They’ve also got some great accessories too – my top three are these hammered rings, these sexy cat-eyed sunnies, and this metal collar.

Summer wedding outfit

dress: c/o LOVE, bag: c/o Bracher Emden, shoes: ALDO, earrings: Accessorize

One of my friends from school has just got engaged, and so to celebrate I thought I’d put together a little summer wedding outfit! They say you can’t wear white to a wedding but this dress isn’t exactly bridal, what with the bright crazy tropical print down both sides. I paired it with my trusty white ALDO platforms and a gorgeous bag from Bracher Emden. This clutch is really cool – the shape and geometric pattern are quite futuristic, but the soft material makes it really accessible, and it has a great chain to throw across your shoulder if you get tired of carrying it around.

In other news, I’m really excited to tell you all that I’ve just signed with a literary agent! I know that, unlike a lot of bloggers, I tend to keep my posts relatively free from my personal life, but I’m just so delighted about it that I wanted to share the news with you guys! Earlier this year I wrote a futuristic young adult novel, and now with an agent on my side, it will hopefully get published! Being an author has been my life-long dream so I am over the moon right now.

Me and Callum are off to Bruges tomorrow (“It’s a fairytale town, isn’t it?” – if you haven’t seen In Bruges, go do it now!) to celebrate his 2.1 MEng and me getting an agent! See you all in a few days 🙂

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Summer Style

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley summer outfits

Style Bistro

Just like two of my other celeb style crushes, Olivia Palermo and Miranda Kerr, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in a bad outfit. Rosie’s one of my favourite style inspirations for when I’m looking for winter outfits – she’s always draped in leather and fur, with great boots and huge scarves to finish off the look, but here I’ve picked three of her more summery outfits that have inspired me this week. They’re so simple – Rosie never goes overboard, but she’s always got great little details like the embellishment on her shorts in the first outfit or the perfect tuck-in of her sweater in the third. But I think my favourite thing from these outfits are those killer ankle-strap shoes in the second look – I need those in my life!

Which is your favourite look?

Side Ponytail with a Twist Tutorial

Side ponytail with a twist

I love a good challenge, so when GHD contacted me about trying out their new hairdryer with a twist, I was instantly excited. They gave five bloggers a different decade each and asked us to create a hair look inspired by that decade. My decade was the future – perfect for me really, as not only am I a massive sci-fi fan, but also it allowed me to come up with a hairstyle all by myself. As you guys probably know, I’m not the most inventive or skilled at doing hairstyles, so I picked a simple style with a twist. I could see girls in the future wearing everyday for a casual look with an interesting detail.

Here’s how I did it …

GHD Air hairdyer

Hair products

Products used:

  • GHD Air hairdryer (c/o GHD)
  • Fish volumising blow dry spray (c/o KMI)
  • Fish silky smoothing cream (c/o KMI)
  • Aussie Hi-Hold/Hi-Shine hairspray
  • Bobby pins
  • Elastic hair ties

Blow-dried, ombre hair

1. I started by blow drying my hair with the great new Air hairdryer from GHD (super fast, minimum heat damage, great quality as expected from GHD), using a few sprays of Fish’s volumising blow dry spray to add some volume. I love this product – it’s the only thing that actually gives my fine, flyaway hair some proper oomph, and it smells great too.  Side ponytail with a twist tutorial

2. Pull hair to one side and secure an inch or so below your ear with an elastic tie. Depending on your hair length, tie in two more places down the ponytail (doesn’t really matter how many, just not two as this looks a little weird and keep them evenly spaced). Keep a little hair free below the last tie.

3. Smooth the flyaway hairs with a little smoothing cream, such as the one I used from Fish. The problem with this hairstyle for me is that I have layers, and they are very flicky, so it’s always going to look a little messy. You could keep it messy like mine or go for a really urban, sleek look if you don’t have so many layers by keeping it ultra smooth.

4. This part’s a little fiddy – pull out a little bit of hair from the back under each section and wrap it round the hair tie, pinning it at the back with a bobby pin. Again, sorry about the flyaways – my hair is so layered so it doesn’t like this bit either! But I kind of like the messy look.

Et voila! You have a cute, slightly futuristic side pony with a twist. Thanks GHD for challenging me to try out a new hairstyle! I think I’ll play around with my hair a bit more from now on.

We Are Handsome swimwear

I know I did a post very recently about swimwear, but I just came across the coolest swimwear brand so had to let you girls know about them. Hailing from Australia (with their weather, they have no excuse to not have great swimwear!), We Are Handsome are a duo who focus on quirky designs, fantastic quality and their Australian heritage – every piece is 100% made in Australia.

Above are a few images from their present and past collections. WAH’s prints remind me a little of Motel Rocks with their trippy colours and cool landscapes, but I’ve yet to come across such cool designs for swimwear pieces, so that’s why I got so excited when I stumbled across them on Matches Fashion. Incidentally, my favourite piece from their current stock is exclusive to Matches – it’s a well-timed Houses of Parliament-themed swimsuit. If the sun EVER decides to get his act into gear and grace us with his presence, I’ll be getting this swimsuit to rock my British pride this summer.
