Last week Callum, my parents and I went on a little trip to Brussels via Eurostar. It was so nice to explore a new city. Brussels is pretty cool and has a really quirky streak. I mean, we saw giant balloons of cartoon characters parading down the street and a cycling band (like the Lucozade advert but on bikes!) – weird! I look forward to going back with friends to make the most of the awesome food and drink culture out there.
While we were there, Callum also took the chance to practice his film making skills. Here’s the video he made of our trip – I think it’s bloody amazing! Hope you guys like it 🙂 Full screen it for the best effect, it’s HD and everything! We’re thinking of trying more video content for the blog, so do let me know what you think!
Ps. The song is ‘The Swallow and the Medicine’ by The Tallest Man On Earth. Be sure to check out the album it’s from, Shallow Grave.

Me want. I have a tonne of coloured skirts but most of them are rather short and have a naughty habit of riding up my thighs as I walk, and constantly tugging at their hems is not a good look. So I’m moving on to coloured shorts. They’ll last me through winter paired with thick knit tights and big coats, and then they’ll come into their own during summer.
Of course the Isabel Marant pink lace ups (first picture) are the queen of coloured shorts, but Topshop has a number of great choices if you fancy painting your bottom all the colors of the rainbow. And check out Couturelust’s awesome DIY Isabel Marant lace ups tutorial if you’ve got bare sewing skillz.

Yup, it’s bags again! I do have a bit of a bag fetish. With so many bits and bobs to carry around with me all the time, bags are a necessity, but they can be both practical and very, very beautiful. These ones from Vegan designer Matt & Nat are also ethically sourced and animal-friendly. The only issue with them is that they are a bit harder than normal bags as most have linings made from recycled plastic water bottles. However, this is perfect if you choose structured pieces like the ones above. The Apea berry-red tote and the Mick checkered messenger bag are key pieces for AW11 (the tote for its colour, the messenger for its heritage style), and the Clyde quilted handbag is a classic piece that will last you through many a season.

Love it when British weather suprises you like this. You think summer’s all gone and then – poof! – a sudden hour or two of sunshine and warmth appear out of nowhere. Thanks weather, enjoyed wearing summery accessories again today. Well, when I say again, I mean for pretty much the first time this year … 😉
