Back to Ibiza now sweethearts, and yes, I’ll admit I did start to feel a teensy bit like a mermaid shooting these photos at one of Ibiza’s most beautiful beach. It’s hard not to get caught up in it all when you’re in such a magical location! For a couple of days, Sol D’en Serra was our own personal paradise – Callum and I discovered it whilst having a little explore in our car, and came back the next day with our friends. Maybe it’s because of the pebbles, or the tall, enclosing arms of the cliffs, but the beach is so quiet you almost believe you’re the only ones left in the world.

While I’m usually a bikini kind of girl, I fell head over heels for this incredible Motel swimsuit (just £19 now in the sale!). The print alone makes you feel you’re already in the water, and the tie detail at the front is super sexy. It’s definitly the swimwear piece I get the most compliments on. When it got colder, I just threw on my beautiful cashmere jumper from Hobbs for cosy-chic perfection. Oh, the beach life is wonderful isn’t it girls? You don’t need much – just the sun, sea and salt in your hair. Those mermaids have it real good … x

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m just a teensy bit obsessed with flowers. Plants, I’m useless with – no matter how closely I follow the care instructions, they always seem to die! It’s like having the opposite of green fingers. But flowers are easy. Every week I buy a new bunch for the flat – nothing brightens up your home like fresh flowers. On last weekend’s flower hunt, Callum and I stopped by this beautiful shop to take a few shots of my outfit amongst all the pretty colours.

I love a demin ensemble for a casual morning pottering about town, and right now these Topshop Jamie’s are my favourites. I’m sure my female readers will agree that the right pair of skinny jeans can make you feel oh-so-sexy, but in a totally cool and relaxed way. The same can be said for an oversized tee. I’ve had so many compliments on my Paul and Joe Sister top already – doesn’t the print remind you of Hokusai’s wave? I picked it out along with these super sweet Vivienne Westwood pumps whilst having a sneaky preview of The Dressing Room’s summer sale.

I’m lucky enough to live just around the corner from The Dressing Room in St Albans, which was recognised by Vogue as one of the 100 best shops outside London and is my personal favourite. Their amazing summer sale starts tomorrow online and in-store, with reductions on brands such as American Vintage, Current/Elliot, House of Harlow and J Brand – plus, the first 20 customers into the store will get a cheeky 10% extra off sale items. Or if you’re shopping online, just sign up to the newsletter to find an exclusive 10% discount code. I know I’ve got my eye on a few things.

Happy shopping sweethearts! x

Having to go through all our photos from Ibiza has been bittersweet, with lots of fond memories to hold onto, laced with the annoyance of oh why can’t we have weather like this in the UK! And not just the weather – Ibiza is beautiful in so many more ways. Callum and I have been missing in particular the golden quality of the light, which gives everything a gorgeous hazy, amber glow and makes photoshoots a dream! Anyway, we’ll have lots more photos to come from our holiday so will just have to get over our envy (or build a time-machine/teleporter, which is my personal favourite option).

Here’s another little look that we shot on holiday. Just a super simple, sweet outfit that I wore to an evening meal with our friends. I was feeling happy and playful, so a cute crop and skater skirt combo was perfect, along with this fun little Paul’s Boutique bag. Keeping it sophisticated were my Hobbs sandals, one of those shoes you know the instant you get them that you’ll love them forever. All girls need a pretty pair of heels like this in their wardrobe – they literally go with every outfit! Mine are on sale at the moment, so do take a look at Hobbs if you’re on the hunt for the perfect summer sandals. They come in a different colours too 🙂

Hope you had a lovely weekend sweethearts. We’ll be back next week with a new post, so check back soon! x

I can’t believe how summery our last few posts have been! It’s been annoying Callum a little as photos are harder to edit when there’s a green background (apparently it affects the whitebalance, or something like that :P), and I’m sure you’d all like to see a more urban outfit, but when the sun is shining I can’t resist a day spent among the flowers and trees. I  think I’m definitely a country girl at heart. I love London, and when we travel I always want to explore new cities, but at the end of it I love coming back to a private, quiet spot away from the busyness of it all.

Stars of the show in today’s outfit are my gorgeous sandals from Daniel Footwear – on sale now! – and this super sweet leather backpack from Brit-stitch. As you all know, I’m borderline obsessed with pastel pink, so when I had the choice of what colour to get my backpack in there was no contest! But now I want the white and black ones to add to my collection (hehe, talk about greedy!). Anyway, have a lovely weekend sweeties, and next week I’ll be sure to bring you a more urban, streetwear look to counteract all the greenness and flowers that have taken over our blog lately!

We took these shots a while back and haven’t put them up until now as Callum was spending extra time on them, to make sure they were just so. It’s been so hard keeping from sharing them with you all, but today is finally the day, and I really hope they’re worth the wait! Over the last few months we’ve been working hard at crafting beautiful editorial style shoots, really focusing on finding locations and outfits that are a perfect match. Girl in the Lens has come so far over the years, and we’ve been eager to move on from the days where we’d shoot looks in the streets outside our houses! We want it to be a real fashion destination, a place where you can find style inspiration but also creative photography and ideas too. Part of  that is coming soon in our blog redesign – another thing I can’t wait to share with you guys! But it’s also starting with posts like this, through which I hope you can get a sense of the magic we felt shooting in this gorgeous location!

These bluebell woods in Hartwood Forest are one of my favourite places to go for long, slow walks, losing yourself in the beauty of the landscape and just letting your mind drift into dreams. So many of my book ideas have found inspiration amongst these trees! I’ve always wanted to do a shoot here, but I knew it had to be the perfect time, so the light and colours were just right. One Sunday, Callum and I decided to finally give it a go. It had been raining all day, grey and cloudy, but then around eight in the evening the sun broke through, so we grabbed our things and rushed over, running up the muddy path from the car park to the woods. It had gotten dark again in the time we were driving, but as soon as we stepped into the woods the light just came shining down, dappling the forest floor and turning the bluebells the most beautiful, vivid colour.

It was magical. The shoot was a bit of a rush too as we only had a few minutes left of daylight, but perhaps that makes it even more precious. I felt like a complete princess in my oh-so-gorgeous Jarlo Tillie dress and delicate Swarovski pieces – blue to match the flowers! – and these photos were totally worth ruining my heels in the mud for. To win your own Jarlo Tillie dress, just enter using the below form. It’s such a beautiful dress I had to give more than one away, so there are two up for grabs (one per winner). The size small will fit UK 8-12 as it’s a stretchy fabric, so hopefully you’ll be able to wear it. If not, it’d make a lovely gift!

Good luck sweeties! And I hope you like the pictures from our little shoot in the woods. Callum and I so happy with them, and that we got to share this magical moment with you all x
