Jewellery always gets a little lost in outfit posts (unless it’s a statement piece of course), so I wanted to take some photos and show off some gorgeous new jewellery I’ve been loving recently. Firstly, yes, you’ve noticed the Harry Potter ring, and yes, I am a massive fan. I wear my Gryffindor colours proud. I’ve been on the hunt for lit-themed jewellery, and this simple but beautifully crafted ring from of Harry’s glasses and scar from independent jewellery maker Holly Presley is the perfect start to my collection.
You’ll also have spotted the gorgeous pastel satchels I’ve featured in a couple of my outfit posts lately (pink satchel here and mint satchel here). I can’t get enough of these bags. They are seriously a must for every girl’s wardrobe, and although they’re quite expensive, you have to remember that they’re made in the UK from the highest quality leather, and are worth every penny. It’s worth investing in pieces like this, that you know will go with tonnes of outfits.
My last favourite piece from the photos above is this beautiful necklace from Portuguese Heart. Unfortunately, it’s sold out at the moment, but hopefully it will be coming back into stock soon. It’s a spring staple, with its pretty flower design and on-trend royal blue, and it feels luxurious with it’s silver base and gold-plating. I love the fact that it was inspired by the daisy-chains you make as children, and it really is a super versatile piece. I’ve worn it with tees, dresses and shirts already, and I’ve only had it a couple of weeks! A great thing about Portuguese Heart is that all their jewellery is handmade in villages in the north of Portugal. Supporting smaller designers is important to me when it comes to jewellery, and I love there to be a story behind the pieces I wear x

Another way to brighten up your day along with pastel accessories or bright spring colours is getting playful with your prints. I love mixing prints. It’s fun, adds a quirky feel to any outfit, and it really reflects your personality – every girl will mix her prints differently. This outfit is fast becoming one of my spring staples. A breton stripe jumper is really one of the simplest things to style and a must for every girl’s wardrobe. While I love wearing it with jeans, I think it goes so well with this beautiful lacy skirt from Lulu’s and the elegant touches additions of kitten heels and a lady-like bag.
If you’ve seen me around London lately you’ll have noticed this bow bag from StylistPick – I can’t stop using it! It’s seriously sweet with the bow detail and versatile in monochrome, but I also adore how much it can fit in it despite looking small – we’re talking Hermione’s bottomless bag here. For me, a bag that manages to be both cute and practical is always a winner. x

Lusting after simplicity today. Pieces that are classic but with a twist – that’s what designers do best. I am and always will be a high street girl, but I do have a small but growing collection of designer pieces. If, like me, you’ve not exactly got an endless supply of money, you have to look for items you can really invest in – pieces that are classic enough to last a lifetime in your wardrobe, but with special enough design details to make them stand out items. Had a little browse of the new brands on Shopcade (so excited to see Coggles and My-Wardrobe on there, two of my favourite online shopping destinations for designer goods) and found the above pieces. All of them hit the ‘classics with a twist’ criteria perfectly – the leather jacket with an interesting gold collar, the little black bag with studs, the shoe-boots and skinny jeans with quirky prints, the cute knit with ruffle detail. I can see someone like Erin Wasson wearing this outfit and completely rocking it. x

Snow in March is quickly becoming normal, which is annoying as I am fed up of the cold now and just want SUMMER! So I will continue to battle against the elements and defy the glacial temperatures with my sunnies and bright spring pastels. I have been a bit of a magpie lately when it comes to pastel accessories – they’re just so easy to add instant colour and fun to an outfit.
Keds have an awesome range of spring colours for SS13 in their trademark Champion sneakers. My sorbet yellow pair are a little burst of sunshine, and I literally feel spring in my step (get it? Spring? Spring in my step? Ok ignore me, I’m a total loser I know) when I wear them. You may have also noticed that this mint blue Britstitch satchel looks familiar, and that’s because I featured a rose pink version in a recent outfit post. I loved the rose one so much I had to treat myself to this mint blue version. These satchels are spring in a bag, and I defy you not to smile whilst wearing them.
Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend – come on girls, let’s stick it to the cold weather and wear our spring colours with pride! x

For the next Take 10 challenge, the girls and I were sent these pretty peter pan collar tees from Lacoste to create our outfits from. I love how diverse our outfits are, as it demonstrates what versatile little tops these are. I love the mix of the casual tee shape with the delicate, girly collar, and I wanted to continue that theme with my styling, teaming the tee with a tough leather skirt and boyfriend coat, but adding feminine heels and a bright pink purse. There’s something schoolgirl-inspired about this outfit too I think. I’ve started to realise that my style has a preppy streak to it, which I’m completely happy with – Alexa Chung is one of my style icons after all! It’s interesting how style develops over time, isn’t it? I am finding out more about my own fashion sense every day, and being a fashion blogger really helps me explore this. x
