Amazon Kindle Fire Giveaway!

* This giveaway is now closed and the winner has been notified! *

I’m sooooo excited to announce my latest giveaway to you all, as it is probably my best yet. Yes that’s right, ladies and gents, I have a gorgeous, brand new Kindle Fire to giveaway to one of you! Now, bear with me while I explain how a Kindle is relevant to a fashion blog …

As many of you know, last year I finished writing my first novel. It’s been a dream of mine since forever to have a book published – if I’m honest, it’s been my only dream really. I’ve always written, but last year was when I made a proper go of starting a career for myself as an author. And, as those of you who’ve been following Girl in the Lens for the last few months will also know, somehow, my dream came true! I landed a brilliant literary agent a month after finishing my novel, and she got us a two-book deal with the most amazing publisher I could have asked for.

The last few months have been a whirlwind of meetings, contract signings and editing as my book is prepped for publication in Autumn this year. It’s been a crazy journey, and I’ve enjoyed being able to share it with you, my lovely blog readers, and my friends in the blogging community. So when I got contacted by Dialaphone about hosting a giveaway with them, and a Kindle was one of the choices in their gadget line up, I thought it’d be a great way to both give something back to my readers and introduce the authoring side of my life to you all.

If you want to enter, read on for the giveaway instructions, and don’t forget to check out my author blog to find out more about my books and journey to publication! x

Silver Dress for a Casual Look

Fashion Union dress

dress, shoes and tights: c/o Fashion Union, coat: Sisley, bag: Nelly, hat: Marks and Spencer

I have always wanted a silver dress, so when Fashion Union contacted me about styling an outfit from their spring sale, and I spotted this jacquard beauty, I had to have it! I’ve seen girls wearing silver dresses in a casual style, so I wanted to try it for myself, toning down the formalness of the dress with brown studded boots and a trilby (and it was super cold out so I had to cover up with a big coat of course!). I’m pretty happy with the result. This dress is definitely going to be a staple in my wardrobe – it can be styled in so many different ways, and I’m looking forward to trying them out! I can’t believe it’s on sale at just £18. What a bargain! Have a look at Fashion Union’s sale for more gorgeous pieces. x

Black and Gold Dress

Nelly dress

Ombre hair fashion blog

dress: c/o Nelly, shoes: c/o New Look

We had to rush these photos a little because the weather looked threatening and we were late for our appointment, so expect to see this dress and these shoes in another post or two. That’s no problem for me – I love both of these pieces, so will definitely be wearing them a lot in the future. This Nelly dress is full of details that makes it a lot more interesting than yet another LBD. The gold net sleeves give the dress a casual vibe that makes it more versatile than a purely evening dress, and the contrast hem length is really cool. It’s something I could see Rumi from Fashiontoast wearing, though she’d definitely wear it with black boots or heels. Instead, I went for bright coral red heels from New Look – one of my favourite stores to shop for shoes as the prices are insane and they have a great range to cater for all styles and occasions. I usually wear a colourful dress and black or nude heels, so I wanted to do the opposite with this outfit. x

Happy Fashion

Ok, England, enough of the rain and gloom now – bring out that sun. I know he’s somewhere behind all those clouds! No? Fine. Be like that. I’ll just have to create a little sunny happiness myself …

Bright clothes and accessories

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – clothes have the ability to change your mood. I’ve not exactly been feeling down lately, but the weather hasn’t been the best, so I had fun picking out some items that would definitely inject some tropical sunshine into your life if like me you’re fed up of our British weather! My favourite item is definitely the Proenza bag – I’ve been lusting after one for ages, and I love the neon colours. They’re pretty pricey though, so unless £1,000 happens to drop into my lap from nowhere, I think it’ll be a while before I get my hands on one. x
