30th April, 2012 You might have seen my post the other week about Nelly.com’s UK blogger launch party. Before then, I’d only heard of Nelly through featurse on blogs such as Mes Voyages a Paris and Kayture. Now, it’s my home page. You wanna know why? Cause it’s completely AMAZING. I’m not just saying this because I was invited to their event. I’m saying this because I absolutely love online shopping, but got sick of there being no rivals to ASOS. Well now ASOS better watch out, ’cause Nelly’s in town. With over 800 designer brands and more than 20 of their own private labels (one of which is soon to be an amazing line in collaboration with 5 Inch and Up’s Sandra), and prices that suit all budgets, it’s no wonder Nelly are the no. 1 online fashion retailer in Scandinavia.
I’ve just bought a bunch of goodies from Nelly so I’ll be uploading some outfit posts with their products soon, but for now I thought I’d demonstrate just how on-trend and amazing Nelly are by looking at four of my favourite Spring/Summer trends. There’s also a great feature on the Nelly site where you can shop the trends.
WHITE OUT

PRINTS

NEON

from left to right: Nelly Trend Nippon Dress, Bjorn Borg Twisted Lime Triangle Bikini, Davidina Nelly Shoes, Nelly Trend Flash Jumpsuit
METAL ACCESSORIES

from left to right: Nelly Trend Halo Ponytail, Nelly Trend Metal Belt, Nelly Trend Chain Bracelet
Which of the trends you’re most excited about? I’m loving all the metal accessories as I think they add a toughness to any outfit without losing elegance. All white outfits are also beautiful. I don’t have nearly enough white pieces – I’m always scared of getting them dirty! But I think I’ll have to get over that as whites are just so sophisticated and effortless. And I’ve already gone ahead and bought the neon yellow Davidina shoes while making this post, they’re perfect to go with the white pieces I’m going to get! If you want to give Nelly a go, they’re currently offering free UK delivery – just use the code FREEDEL 🙂
P.S. Nelly are holding a launch party at Aqua’s roof garden in London on the 9th May. You can win tickets to go – click here for details. I’d love to see you there!

playsuit: H&M, denim shirt: Topshop, belt: Whistles, shoes: c/o Keds, bag: H&M, cuffs: c/o Astrid & Miyu
I got sent these cuties a while ago, when the weather here was still sunny and lovely. Yeah? Remember that? I was all geared up to wear these multicoloured shoes with white summer dresses and shorts-and-tee combos when the weather changed its mind and winter came back with a vengeance. So when there was a teeny tiny window of sunshine I jumped on the chance to try out these new shoes, as I’ve been wanting to share them with you all for ages. As a sucker for anything colourful, I fell in love with these straight away, but it’s the thick ribbons to tie round your ankle that really got me. They are detachable, but I think they look really nice on, adding a touch of girliness to the outfit, and they give this otherwise pretty simple outfit some structure. What do you guys think? 🙂

25th April, 2012 Last week, me and Callum headed down to Covent Garden, where Glassworks Studios – an online store stuffed to the brim with designer goodies – have set up a pop-up store. It was a fun night, with lots of yummy food and drink, a fun styling game and great company. And of course, there were clothes. Lots of beautiful, gorgeous clothes from designers such as Current/Elliot, Helmut Lang, IRO, Markus Lupfer, Thakoon, Theory and Zoe Karssen. All those brands under one roof? Yes please. I made so many mental notes of things I wanted to get it was silly. Here are some pictures from the event and the gorgeous clothes in Glassworks for you to drool over 😉

I ran into the lovely Amy of Wolf Whistle, who I’ve been chatting on Twitter to for ages:

Here’s me falling totally head-over-heels for this Sass & Bide beauty:

And this Helmut Lang blazer and IRO dress. Gimme gimme:

The outfit I styled for their Facebook competition (if you like it I’d love for you to click/comment here – there’s A.L.L. bag on the line!):

If you fancy checking out Glassworks Studios for yourself, head on down to 9 Mercer Street, Covent Garden, WC2H 9QJ. They’re also offering free worldwide delivery on items purchased from their site right now, so if London’s not convenient for you be sure to check out their online store.

24th April, 2012
The days of plain blue denim and flat, black trousers are over. No more will our legs be bored with dull monotones – we’ve now got an impressive range of prints and colours to decorate our pins with, from delicate, washed-out pastels to bold, zany prints! The only problem with this is holding back from buying a different pair of trousers in every print available. Designers have got creative and there’s so many gorgeous jeans and trousers to choose from. Below, I’ve picked four of my favourite printed pants for over £100 from designers and under £50 from the high street, so whether you’re looking to splash the cash or save, there’s hopefully a pair for you!

1. Paul & Joe Picchu embroidered linen straight-leg pants
2. Current Elliot Stiletto printed cropped low-rise skinny jeans
3. DKNY Printed stretch-cotton skinny pants
4. Proenza Schouler leaf print trousers

1. Motel Printed Legging in Tropical Butterfly Print
2. Topshop Moto space print Leigh jeans
3. Dorothy Perkins floral superskinny jeans
4. Zara printed trousers
Which is your favourite? To be honest, I think the designers have the edge slightly here, as the designs are so simple but beautiful.

23rd April, 2012 Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. Just a quick post to let you know that Girl in the Lens has been shortlisted for Keep Me Inspired’s first blog of the month. They picked blogs based on their design, and had lovely things to say about our little blog: “Another simple and beautiful blog design, Girl in the Lens is all about the photography, even using photographs to create her title and buttons. It’s clean, elegant and modern.”
Aww, shucks! To be honest, as much as I’d like to take the credit, I’ve got to give it all to my wonderful boyfriend who looks after the design and photography of the blog. Of course I’m biased, but I do think that his work is Pretty Neat. If we win the title of KMI’s blog of the month, I’m definitely taking him out for a yummy burger to say thank you. As part of the nomination process I was also interviewed by KMI about Girl in the Lens, so click here to have a read.
To check out the other four nominees and place your vote, just click the button below 🙂 Happy Monday! x
