Making a Parka Look Sexy

Parka coat - Stockholm Streetstyle

It’s been rainy here in the UK the last few days. And I mean RAINY, like hailstones, thunderstorms and torrential downpours, the kind that make you feel wet even when you’re inside. So gone are my dreamings of summer clothes and I’m back on the hunt for something both waterproof and hot. It’s a tricky balance, but I think I’ve found it in this cool black parka spotted by Stockholm Streetstyle. I love how she’s styled it with those awesome black peep toes, sunnies, leather trousers and the hint of pattern underneath.

Styling Pastels and Neon – How to Mix Them Whatever Your Style

I’ve documented my love for pastels in lots of my recent posts, but I have to say I love having bright colours in my outfits. Luckily, two of this season’s hottest trends – pastels and neon brights – are not just good on their own but mixed together too. Sam Edelman Joss Studded Booties – My eBay Bargain

Sam Edelman Joss Studded Boots

Sam Edelman Joss Studded Boots

Sam Edelman Joss Studded Boots

jumper: Forever 21, shorts: Topshop, boots: Sam Edelman

This has to be the eBay steal of the year. Brand new Sam Edelman boots for just £30? Down from £150? I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. I’ve been obsessed with Sam Edelman ever since that spiky-shoed Serena moment on Gossip Girl, and so I snapped up the chance to own my own piece from the label. Since they arrived, I’ve been wearing them non-stop, as they’re perfect for adding a little kick to toughen up any outfit. The stud detail is only on the outer side of each boot, so it’s not too bling, and I love the shape – it’s almost like wings! I just know these boots are gonna see me through summer.

My Twitter feed at the moment is buzzing with all the lucky people at Coachella this weekend. It’s safe to say I’m INSANELY JEALOUS, and so to make myself feel better I’ve been looking at festival-style shoots to get some inspiration for injecting Coachella style into my summer wardrobe. If you can’t go to the desert, then you can definitely try and bring it to you!

This editorial in FOAM magazine in association with Planet Blue is just bursting with that summery festival feel. Even the splicing makes the photos look as though they’ve been taken with an instant camera. The styling is exactly how I would put together these outfits. The metal chains over the bust of the summer dress is an inspired way to toughen up a girly outfit, and how cute is that pom pom bracelet? All I’d add is a trilby for some British coolness and my summer wardrobe is done.

Ladies and gents, this is BIG NEWS. As a massive online shopping junkie (saves time, full of styling ideas, more variety – what’s not to love?!) I’m always on the lookout for great new online stores. But nothing has come close to ASOS … until now. Already huge in Scandinavia, Nelly.com have now launched a UK offering, and they are just what I’ve been waiting for.

Last week, I went along to their blogger launch party and was wowed by what I saw. Take a look:

Not only do Nelly have an incredible range and great, affordable prices, but they’ve got an eye for detail. All their clothes are wearable and accessible, but they have been upgraded with cool, modern touches that really set them out from the pack. One of my favourite pieces that I saw at the launch is this gorgeous floral peplum jacket – such an easy way to work both the peplum and bold prints trends. And not only do they have great fashion, but Nelly are also very blogger friendly. The amazing Sandra from 5 Inch and Up was at the launch to talk about her upcoming line with Nelly. It was amazing to meet her and see a brand that are working with bloggers in an exciting way.

Go check out Nelly.com here and let me know what you think 🙂
