THE PERFECT LITTLE BLACK DRESS

I can’t get enough of this little black dress from Olive Clothing. I usually avoid wearing too much black, but once I’ve got a tan, I think it suits my skin tone more, and there’s just something so sophisticated and subtly sexy about a black and nude outfit, am I right? The simplicity of this dress is just perfect. I love the pleat detail down the front and the two-tone colour blocking. It gives this LBD something a little extra. Teamed with my trusty Zara heels loose hair, this outfit has taken me from daytime meetings in London to after-work drinks.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I’m so ready for a rest, I don’t know where this week has gone! Or this month – or this year even! It’s been crazy busy. And I can’t believe my novel comes out in less than two weeks now! Scary! x

You all know how much I love a red dress, but a red dress with leopards on it? Sounds a little bit too in-your-face for me. But when I saw this MINKPINK dress, I was totally blown away. The loose smock shape adds a girliness to the dress and tones down the bold colour, and there’s something almost whimsical about the leopards and the way they’re placed. The whole thing is so quirky and unique. I just love love love it. The King of the Jungle Dress is a tad pricey at £59, but it’s worth every penny. It’s so easy to throw on and style with anything, you just know you’ll be wearing it for many years to come.

P.S. Urban Outfitters also have a great competition going with MINKPINK at the moment where you can win a £500 shopping spree. The beautiful Olivia from What Olivia Did will even be there for girly chat and style tips. Get entering here! And don’t forget I’ve got a giveaway on at the moment to win a £100 Topshop voucher. Hope you’re feeling lucky!

Forever 21 | Declare Your Style Campaign | 3

shirt, leggings and glasses: c/o Forever 21

For the last look in the Forever 21 Declare Your Style campaign, we were sent a white shirt and striped beetlejuice leggings to style up in a back-to-school kind of look. If you’ve forgotten what the whole campaign is about (and let’s face it, the first post where I introduced the campaign was two weeks ago, and I bet you were distracted by all the pretty pictures ;)) then basically it’s a style off between six bloggers across the world to celebrate Forever 21’s cool new Threebies initiative.

For three weeks in August and September, they’re offering great deals called Threebies to buy online and in-store. Each week, they’ve picked special items that hit key AW trends, allowing you to get the look for less. Now the Threebies don’t launch in UK stores until the 30th August, so there’s a little while until you’ll be able to get a hold of these items, but make sure you add the date to your calendars. You can see my first and second posts for the campaign to get a taste of the items you’ll be able to get. By the way, the blogger who gets the most votes will win a whopping $10,000 donation to a local charity – how cool is that! If you want to help us win it for London-based charity Kids Company then get voting here.

I really love the final look I did here for the campaign. An oversized white shirt should be a staple for all girls’ wardrobes – they’re just so easy to throw on with anything. They’re especially great for days when you’re not feeling 100% body confident, as they flatter your shape and hide any bits you might be feeling self-conscious about. I wear them on days when I’m bloated or know I’ll be eating a lot and getting a food-baby! Plus, when teamed with leggings it makes for the most comfy outfit! Perfect for school or uni (or if you’re like me, writing novels at home) x

TEENY TINY CHECKED BIKINI

Girls in bikinisUK female fashion bloggers Rooftop pool Seville hotelsBeachy ombre hair dip dye bloggers

bikini: c/o Lara Ventura

Let me start by apologising to the lovely Lara that I don’t have better front-on photos to show off just how gorgeous the bikini she sent me is! It’s actually quite a funny story. When Callum and I were shooting these pictures a couple of months ago on the rooftop pool of our hotel in Seville, Hotel Sevilla Center, there were a few other people lounging round the pool, and Callum went into protective boyfriend mode and got a bit funny about taking pictures of me in my bikini there! It was a bit silly since I was still going to be wearing my bikini just lounging by the pool reading my book. Maybe he felt a bit weird about taking photos of me in front of people. He shouldn’t have – the young and very tanned Spanish couple on the sun loungers beside us were giving enough PDA for everyone there! Trust me, no one was even watching us taking photos with those two around.

Anyway, I still think we got some beautiful shots. I love the fact that Lara is a young, London-based designer. Her swimwear has been seen on the likes of Rihanna and Bip Ling, and is just super fun and girly with its playful prints and colourful designs. (Btw, if you like the bikini I’m wearing, it’s currently in the sale, down to almost half price at £55!) What more could you want from your swimwear? Lara’s website is also great as she not only showcases her gorgeous designs but has also imported a few of her her favourite labels from across the globe. It’s just swimwear heaven 🙂
