Waaaah just looking at these photos makes me want to hop on a plane straight back to Seville! The warmth, the sun, the beautiful parks and green areas and fallen oranges littering the ground … just beautiful. To be fair, it was only sunny and warm on the last day we were there (Callum and I were lucky enough to go during the only three days of grey clouds Seville gets a year) but we still had an amazing time. I can’t recommend Seville enough if you’re thinking about a little trip away. It’s got everything you could possibly want from a holiday destination – great food, drink, shops, lots of things to see, beautiful streets to wander and (usually) lovely weather. I’ve been three times now and can’t wait to return!

Callum and I have a shed load of pictures from our trip to share with you guys, but we might hold out on them a little bit as we’re about to get started on a big blog redesign – yep, Girl in the Lens is getting a make over – and our Seville trip would make a great first feature for our travel section (oops, spoilers!). But here is a little shoot I did for Motel when we were out there, to show off their gorgeous Catalina dress (it even sounds Spanish). This is my favourite kind of a dress – one that works for both day and night. And yes, it is super tiny, but don’t you worry, I’m wearing some shorts underneath! If you’d like one for yourself (the Catalina dress comes in block colours too) then don’t forget you can always use the code GIRLINTHELENS to get 20% off 🙂 x

We’re back! Sorry for the brief absence, but now Callum and I are home from our little holiday, Girl in the Lens is gonna be back in full swing! We’ve got some really exciting plans in line with some amazing brands, and are planning a bit of a redesign, which we hope will take our blog to the next level. More info very soon …

Here’s a little outfit we shot a while ago and I forgot to post (oops, sorry!). Paul’s Boutique is fast becoming one of my go-to brands for fun, gorgeous bags, and this little paint-swirl bucket bag is no exception. It’s just so cute! It’s perfect for summer too – just throw it on with any outfit, and it finishes it perfectly. And how adorable are these diamante polka dot tights from Charnos? I think they just add a touch more whimsy and playfulness to this look. Who said LBD outfits have to be boring? x

BRB!

Balloons photo

Hi lovelies! Just wanted to do a quick post to let you all know that Callum and I are off on holiday to Seville, Spain today until next Tuesday (11th), so you’ll have to sit tight until then for new posts. We have been so busy lately, we’ve decided to try and avoid technology whilst away (bar cameras). It’s a pretty big ask for bloggers, so we’ll see how we go! In the meantime, don’t forget to check out the competition I’m judging to learn how you can win £1,000 and follow my Instagram for photo updates.

See you next week 🙂 x

Floral Cut Out Summer Dress

dress: c/o Poppy Lux, sandals: c/o Miss Luxe, bag: Topshop, cuff: c/o Dear Charlotte via Caratime

I do love a bright bold print for summer, and the quirky details on this Poppy Lux dress make it a perfect statement summer piece. Now’s not the time to be shy. The sun is out, the world a technicolour splash – let your clothes give Mother Nature a run for her money! I wanted to keep it simple with this outfit and less the dress do the talking (or, er, shouting), so just added a preppy pop of neon with my satchel and strappy sandals. I find it really difficult to find sandals that fit well and don’t rub, but these ones from Miss Luxe are perfect. I’m definitely bringing them with me later this week when I go to Seville for a little trip away. x

Win £1,000! ShopStyle Festival Shopping Challenge

Festival outfit competition

boots: Steve Madden £53 / skirt: Own the Runway £15 / top: Topshop £10 /

sunglasses: ASOS £9.50 / jumper: Bardot £50 / bag: Topshop £28

TOTAL: £165.50

Happy Monday sweeties! The sun is out in full force this morning, perfect for my announcement that I’m judging ShopStyle’s festival shopping challenge, which is offering bloggers the chance to win a whopping £1,000 to put towards their summer wardrobe. There’s also £200 up for grabs for two runners up. Yes, yes, I can hear you screaming – HOW DO I GET MY HANDS ON THE £1,000?! Well listen up, because it’s super easy. All ShopStyle are asking are for you to create your ultimate festival outfit in a post on your lovely blogs! You can see my example above. I chose to mix bold polka dots, clean whites and a flirty denim skirt because this summer is all about that retro style and all-white outfits, and boots – a must-have for festivals (what if it rains? *Cough* Sorry, I mean, when it rains). But unfortunately as a judge I can’t enter the competition myself. Sob! You lucky girls can, though, so here’s how to get involved …

*

To enter:

· Create a blog post featuring your ultimate festival outfit that costs no more than £200 and explain why you love it

· Make sure you link to the ShopStyle homepage within your posts

· Email your blog post to shoppingchallenge@popsugar.com to let ShopStyle know you’ve entered

· Come back here and comment on this post with a link to your entry

· Entries must be received by Friday 21st June

· For more details about the competition, see ShopStyle’s blog. And don’t hesitate to get in touch with me for info about the T&Cs!

*

That’s it lovely girls – a super simple way to win £1,000! So no excuses. Now get styling! I can’t wait to see you entries. If you want to find out more about ShopStyle, and how it’s the perfect site for online shopping, you can read my review of them here x
