Forget Burberry London. Burberry Prorsum is where it’s at. More edgy, more inspired, more forward thinking (in my humble opinion). Out of the AW11 collection, their coats are the pieces to watch. If I only wore one coat for the rest of my life it would be the drop waist duffle trench jacket (last pictures). Coats just don’t get better than that. I’d wear it over a tiny dress, black tights and some coloured boots like these Dr Martins. Every single day.
On a different note, their SS12 show at LFW shocked many people with its collection of knits – have a look at it here. Very strange as all the other designers stayed true to the season with pastel colours, floaty textures and lighthearted prints. Oh well. Even if it is a bit weird I still love the collection. Plus, it would be perfectly to fine to wear in SS here in the UK since we pretty much experience winter all year round!
18th September, 2011 More blogger envy. Hope you don’t mind me sharing but whilst I’m waiting for the boyfriend to have free time to take some outfit pictures, here’s a great outfit from Song of Style. Changed the shoes a little as I’m just so in love with the fold on these Alexander McQueen boots but otherwise I love it all. Polyvore is so awesome, but so addictive. Be warned. It will eat you up.

I did a post earlier today about O’Neill, and I was wondering for aaaages who Elyse Taylor (their brand ambassador) reminds me of. It’s Jess Hart! Both Aussie, both blonde, both with those inviting eyes and perfect lips. I absolutely adore these two pictures of Jess Hart, she’s got so much emotion in both of them.
Oh, and watch out for her in next month’s Vogue Australia! She’s wearing Ralph Lauren in a gorgeous Parisian photoshoot by Eric Guillemain.

I was lucky enough to be one of 12 finalists in O’Neill’s One Way Runway event this summer, where 12 girls from around the world competed in a bikini catwalk show in Ibiza that ended in a 4m jump into the sea! Check out a video of it here – I’m the girl that does the cheeky sailor wink/salue thing.
Anyway, not only was it great fun but it was an awesome insight into the O’Neill team as well. As a brand, I typically associate them with surfing or snow sports, but having spent a few days kitted out in their gear I realised that they’re a pretty cool everyday clothing brand too.
With Elyse Taylor (aka. gorgeous Australian Victoria’s Secret model whom we got to meet and walk the runway with!) as the face of the brand during the 2011 seasons, O’Neill are really positioning themselves as a fashion brand, not just a sportswear brand. Here I’ve picked out some of my favourite looks from them. Check out the video below for a dreamy showcasing of their Fall 2011 collection – it’s sort of native American meets vintage, and every single outfit looks effortless and wearable.

16th September, 2011 I get a bit peeved off when people ask me this. Firstly – I don’t! I spend some money on clothes but not a huge amount. And the clothes I wear last me years as things go in and out of fashion, as my own style shifts, as my size wobbles about from 6-10 in an incredibly annoying manner.
But I mean, so what if I do like to spend money on clothes? Why do you spend money on anything? The simple answer for me is that you spend money on things that make you happy. The way they might do that varies. A new laptop might make you happy because it’s more powerful and you can use it for more things (hello Callum and his new Macbook Pro!). A new washing machine might make you happy because it’s made your life a little bit easier.
Clothes make me happy. They can change my entire outlook one day because I’ve got that new jacket on and it’s warm and comfy, and it makes my waist look good. And another day you’re late for work in the morning because for some reason you find you hate all your clothes, but then you put together that 30th outfit and – hey presto! – it’s right. I’ve shrunk into my seat on the tube on the way to work because my frantically assembled outfit just isn’t doing it for me, and other days I’m almost swaggering from my happiness in what I’m wearing. And this is NOT just a girl thing! Callum’s male flatmate came back from work one day in a bad mood and told me it was all because he wore the ‘wrong’ thing to work.
So there you go. That’s how I justify spending money on clothes anyway. What are your thoughts on the matter?
