ALL AMERICAN

jumper: Topshop | shorts : c/o Somedays Lovin | sneakers: Nike Blazers c/o JD Sports, cap: Yankees
Finishing getting up the last of the summer outfits we’ve shot, so please bear with us – there’ll be a little more sunshine and short hems to come. At least we can stare at the photos and pretend it’s still sunny out (those grey skies are a trick! Don’t believe them!). This is one one my favourite looks from this summer, and it’s an outfit I wore at least once each week. While I mostly wear a baseball cap to hide my unwashed hair and non-make-upped face, I do think there’s something pretty cool about them. Callum brought this official New York Yankees one back with him from a work trip to the city, and I’ve kind of stolen it, I love it so much! Team with an oversized sweatshirt and high-top sneakers and we’re in full-blown sport-wear mode. I often have sporty influences in my style as it’s a casual and comfy, and I do try and maintain an active lifestyle. Not that I could actually work out in these Nike blazers, but you know … x

SIMPLE AUTUMN STYLE
beanie | top | jeans | handbag | boots
There is nothing I love more for an easy day outfit in autumn than jeans, boots and a striped top. And I’m not alone – I see this look on so many girls when I’m out and about, and it’s also a favourite of London’s leading ladies, Sienna Miller, Kate Moss and Alexa Chung. While it’s a super simple style, you can add a fashion-forward touch with two-tone boots like these and a top in a boxy, menswear-inspired shape. Throw a boyfriend coat over it all and you’ve got AW13 perfection. One of my other must-haves for this season is a structured tote – keep it clean and simple, with elegant lines, as seen in the designer collections. Radley London have some beautiful totes (how stunning is the Clayton, as in the outfit above?) and for a smaller price tag, Accessorize have a great range too. x

MONOCHROME SPOTS

dress: c/o Lavish Alice | shoes: c/o Keds
You know I love polka dots, so how could I resist an outfit with a polka dot print dress and shoes? It’s always a pleasure too to find a nice new place to shoot, so when Callum and I went along to the lavender fields in Hitchin with his family we took a break from enjoying the last of the summer sun to take these photos. I can’t believe it was just recently – it’s so cold and rainy now I’m back to living in my mum’s cashmere jumper again (my saviour against the winter cold last year). But if I stare at these pictures long enough, I can just about remember the feel of sunshine on my skin …
Lavish Alice have some really wonderful pieces for AW13, including this beauty of a dress. They’ve taken inspiration from high fashion, with interesting shapes and clean lines, and made pieces more approachable for the every day girl shopping on the highstreet. I really love the cut of this dress around the neckline and the way the polka dot and leopard spots merge to create a really beautiful print. It would be a stand-out dress at Christmas parties paired with red lipstick and super-high ankle-strap heels, don’t you think?
Speaking of Christmas (less than 15 weekends away now!), I’ve been thinking a lot recently about trying to cut down my spending on clothes, especially in preparation for gift-season. Of course, I could just stop buying clothes – duh, Tasha. But this plan always fails because really, how can you resist a gorgeous new piece for your wardrobe? No matter how many soft, cosy jumpers I already own, that new one in Topshop promises me it’ll make all the difference. I don’t think it’s a problem spending money on clothes (as well as books, it’s about all I really shell out on on a regular basis), but I do try and offset the expense.
Selling things on eBay is one way I make a little more room in my wardrobe as well as a bit of money – check out my eBay account here, will be adding some things very soon. Though the problem is you don’t get a lot from your sales once eBay has taken their cut, and it does take a lot of time to list the items and then package and post them once they’ve sold. I also like to swap clothes with my friends. It’s an excuse for a girly get-together, and we all go home with some nice new things without having spent any money! Luckily a few of my closest friends are the same size as me, so it works well for us. I’ve also been recommended cash-in sites where you can get a few pennies for your old clothes, though I’ve yet to try them. Anyone have any good money-saving shopping tips? x

STRAP IT UP
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
What happens just as LFW starts? I get ill, of course. It’s a universal law, like gravity or a rainy British summer. Tasha gets ill just in time for a super important thing like LFW. But you know what else is also a universal law? The happiness of SHOES. So to console myself for missing out on shows and events, I spent my morning putting together a wishlist of gorgeous shoes in my favourite style – the ankle-strap.
The ankle-strap is a girl’s best friend (along with chocolate). It is effortlessly cool, comfortable, and works just as well on flats, boots or heels. I’m currently on a flat-shoes phase, and I love the extra detail and edge an anke-strap adds. Ankle-straps on boots are also super cool – how gorgeous is this Free People pair (no. 2) or these monochrome booties from New Look (no. 8)? New Look have some gorgeous shoes this AW13 for great prices, and they’re always my go-to for quick fashion hits, but I’m also lusting after Boohoo’s range. These red ankle-straps (no. 5) are just what every Christmas party outfit needs!
Hope those of you who don’t have the lurgy like me are enjoying LFW, whether you’re going to shows or just following from afar! x
